The goal of the development was simple to formulate: a headphone amplifier that can really drive all the headphones on the market. To serve the enormous range of headphones to the most sophisticated studio professionals, the McIntosh exclusive technology with the auto-formers almost crowded. With these special in-house designed and self-wound output transformers, three impedance ranges can be technically perfectly realized. So taps are available for the areas of 8 - 40 Ohm, 40 - 150 Ohm and 150 - 600 Ohm. This provides every headphone with the perfect fit.
In addition, a completely new circuit is used (HXD: Headphone Crossfeed Director), which is responsible for the fact that the playback via headphones is similar to the speakers. This achieves a very familiar spatiality and depth graduation via any headphone.
The connection options for a headphone amplifier are unique: two analog and four digital inputs. These are digital formats with a bit depth of up to 32 and a sampling frequency of 192 kHz. The MHA 100 is therefore susceptible to all currently relevant digital signals.
The MHA 100 also fits on a desk, in the guest room or dining area and entertains in any situation, thanks to its small size. This is meant seriously, because the statement even includes the use of speakers. Especially during the day, headphones are not the perfect solution for all kinds of work, and so the MHA 100 offers classic loudspeaker connections, behind which 50 watts per channel - which effortlessly drive a pair of compact loudspeakers. This guarantees music throughout the room.
Of course, with the legendary override protection (Power Guard®), tone controls and everything in the classic, high-quality McIntosh garb. A headphone amplifier like no other.
