The development of digital disc playback is concerned. The technological know-how required for the successful design of high performance digital audio sources is vast. With more than twenty-five years of digital audio experience, Arcam is proud to announce the arrival of it's newest disc player, the CDS27.
To ensure the CDS27's music performance meets "reference" standards the class leading TI / Burr Brown PCM1794 digital to analogue converter (DAC) is used. This device, in a dedicated audiophile CD player. Even the CDS27's power supply has been specially designed for outright performance. Discreet sub-regulated power supplies on the drive, audio, and DAC boards deliver true value to each and every aspect of the work.
UPnP and CIFS compatibility allow effortless integration into networks allowing the CDS27 to access stored content with ease.
As with all its FMJ devices, Arcam has gone to incredible lengths to maximize the performance of this next generation player. As a example the CDS27 benefits from a critically dampened and damagely damaging microphonic vibration from reaching the sensitive electronics inside.
The CDS27 is designed with a single purpose; to deliver the best music experience for discerning owners. It also features a full suite of discrete IR, IP and RS232 codes making it perfect for integration in a high performance home cinema installation.
The CDS27 is designed in the UK and is available in a discrete black finish.
UPnP streaming added to SACD / CD playback makes this likely theonly source you'll ever need.George Robertson - Far East Sales Manager

Arcam began manufacturing audio playback devices in the year 1972, while the founders were still science and technology students at Cambridge University. The products were originally called "A & R Cambridge Ltd". The "A & R" stands for "Amplification & Recording", which reflects the interest of the company founders in this field.
These also examined many of the amplifiers available at that time and found much room for improvement. The Japanese mass-produced products were only compromises in terms of sound, whereas English products - sounding superior - were often not very reliable. Initially, the products were only sold to local sound enthusiasts, but gradually our reputation began to spread.
1976 had designed Arcam's very first hi-fi amplifier, the A60. 50 units were planned but the demand exceeded the planning by far. The A60 became a hi-fi classic sold more than 30.000 worldwide. Many of these amplifiers are still in use. The simplicity of the original design together with the high quality of the materials used gave the A60 not only excellent sound quality but also high reliability.
Over the years, Arcam has maintained its tenet - simplicity and quality materials - in everything that's been built, from entry-level amplifiers, tuners and CD players to the most advanced home theater and stereo products. For over 30 years, Arcam has enthusiastically embraced the challenges of ever-faster development of new technologies, yet never losing track of what is really important to the customer.
To reach the limit of what is technically possible, Arcam is committed to developing and producing products from scratch, with the most technologically advanced standards and long-term support. As a result of advancing technological developments while always keeping an eye on customers, Arcam has received a variety of awards and acclaimed press releases worldwide for systems that deliver superior performance in both the music and film industries.
In the rapidly evolving world of digital video, Arcam has once again taken on the challenge of adopting the latest technologies. Arcam was the first European manufacturer dedicated to making the best of both worlds of music and film. Currently, Arcam has the most advanced home theater solutions that experts worldwide classify as one of the best.
